Cancellation Policy

Each session represents time set aside specifically for you. If you cancel or do not show for an appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance you will be responsible for the full session fee. Depending on my availability, clients may reschedule a missed appointment within the same business week for no additional charge.

Confidentiality

All communication between a psychologist and client are protected by a privacy law. In order for me to share any information about you with another person, I will need you to complete and sign a Release of Information form that meets HIPPA requirements. The form will authorize me to share specified information with the people/institutions you identify.

As a mental health provider, I am a Mandated Reporter. This means that there are LEGAL LIMITS to my ability to maintain confidentiality.

1. If a client is intent on causing harm to themselves.

2. If a client is intent on causing harm to someone else.

3. Any suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable person.

4. Court mandates

Billing & Rates

I am an Out-Of-Network provider for all insurances. My intake fee is $250 for the first session. This is a one time payment. All subsequent sessions are $225 for the 45 minute session. Couples and Family sessions are $250 for the 45 minute session.

While I provide a sliding scale option for clients who are in need, I only have a certain number of sliding scale openings on my schedule.

Payment is required at the time of service. Each month you will be provided with the necessary paperwork to submit a claim to your health insurance provider for reimbursement.

The Federal No Surprise Act of 2022 mandates that uninsured (or Self-Pay) individuals be offered a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) which will inform you of how much your treatment will cost.

Good Faith Estimates (GFE)

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost.

According to the Federal No Surprise Act of 2022, health care providers are required to provide GFEs of medical items or services for uninsured or self-paying individuals.

The GFE will provide the estimated total cost of non-emergency services over a period of time as identified in the GFE.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill.

Before your Visit

As a licensed psychologist, my services are covered for reimbursement through health insurance. Each health insurance provider is different, so it is important for you to contact your provider to inquire about your coverage.

Some important questions to ask are:

1. Do I have out of network benefits?

2. What is my deductible and how close am I to meeting it?

3. How much do you cover for psychological services?

4. What percent of the cost will I be reimbursed for a 45 minute session (session code 90834)?

5. How many therapy sessions a year are covered by my insurance plan?

What to Expect

Therapy is a process. We will work together to explore your concerns and help you to develop awareness of your actions and motivations. The process of exploring concerns can be painful and may cause some distress before you experience the relief you are looking for.

Sessions will last about 45 minutes, but may extend upon request. Through my work with clients, I have found that weekly sessions are recommended for you to make the change you are working towards.

Research has shown that the most important factor in a client's progress in therapy is the relationship with their therapist. Due to this factor, we will focus on building our therapeutic bond and making sure we are a good fit for the first 5 sessions. Within this time, we will work together to identify your goals for therapy and create a treatment plan.
